Project Development Specialist -with an interest for sustainability,  forestry and developing countries

 

We are looking for a Project Development Specialist to keep up our many ongoing and interesting international activities together with the Project Development Manager. The Project Development Specialist is a key person in implementing NEPCon’s fundraising strategy in order to secure outside funding for international projects that support our mission of  mainstreaming sustainability.

About the job:

Together with the Project Development Manager you will be the driver of developing project concepts and writing proposals. You will ensure that projects meet the overall mission of NEPCon and that they are aligned with NEPCon’s programme area, services, and other ongoing projects. In this role you will get a large network as you will be working broadly across the organisation with staff from several locations. The projects are often complex in terms of impact, outcome and project deliveries and there for we work closely together with our technical staff on describing the project proposals.

Once a you have identified and described the project opportunity meeting the funders’ intended objectives, your role together with the Project Development Manager is to coordinate technical inputs from NEPCon staff as well as external partners, writing and submitting the final funding proposals. Once the project has been granted you are the link ensuring the project managers gets an understanding for the deliverables and an introduction to the potential external partners.

Beside the mentioned tasks, others tasks in the position will be:

  • Responding to direct requests for proposals from organisations or agencies
  • Work with Executive Director, Programme Director and Programme Managers to find opportunities for development of relationships with new potential donor organisations
  • Assisting with internal, administrative management of fundraising within NEPCon
  • Ensuring NEPCon’s fundraising strategy is up-to-date
  • Work with Projects Manager and Executive Director to ensure the project budget is accurate and feasible
  • Ensure that external communication is kept up-to-date
  • Other duties as assigned.

You will be joining a dynamic and vibrant organisation working with environmental verification as well as various environmental projects in forestry and agricultural sectors in around the world together with the rest of the 100+ NEPCon staff internationally.
